Pacific Eye

Pacific Eye is a new web-based Pacific Island Youth Magazine driven by US based ‘Anapesi Kai’li. The current issue has a great interviews with Dr ‘Okusitino Mahina and Dr Manulani Aluli Meyer and lots more inspiring, strong and empowered dialogue.

“I don’t know if I will ever fully understand the determination and faith it takes to uproot ones self from a place where you felt secure and safe to travel thousands of miles to a foreign and distant land, where the language, the weather, and the food are completely different, where you are often misunderstood, where you become the target of racism and discrimination, and where you struggle to teach your children and grandchildren about your cultural values recognizing that during the journey to this new place somehow your voice and experiences have become the counter-narrative and not the master-narrative.”
